To EPC or not to EPC. That is the question....!
In most circumstances when selling or letting either commercial properties or private dwellings, it is now a requirement that the vendor (or their agent) should make available to ALL interested parties an Energy Performance Certificate which has been prepared by an appropriately qualified and accredited Energy Assessor. This goes some way to guaranteeing that the assessment will be correct and will provide information to the future occupant of the property regarding the likely costs of energy usage within the property. The EPC will also make recommendations as to how the property can best be improved to reduce energy waste and save money.
Even if you contract with us to prepare an EPC, if we find on researching or surveying your property that an EPC is not required (see our "Its in the detail" page for further information) we'll explain to you why an EPC is not required, confirm our assessment in writing and levy only a minimal charge to cover the costs of our work thus far. Commercial Energy Assessors to Level 3.
We provide commercial energy performance certificates (EPCs) to Level 3 for owners of commercial properties. This means that we are accredited to assess over 75% of commercial properties, generally those which are constructed using traditional methods and which have heating and cooling systems which fall within set limits.
